Our last Wild about Wednesday ended up being a "Fantastic Friday" as I was home sick on Wednesday and didn't feel up to our adventure :o( But we made it Friday and our destination this week as you can probably guess, was the Atomium. And this was the first time we weren't just going to see this lovely atom shaped sculpture...we were going up in it!
After buying our tickets and putting the strollers in the designated stroller area we headed in. There were many flights of stairs and escalators that took you halfway up the sculpture...the lower spheres all held exhibits...which honestly were pretty boring, but the girls had fun playing on all the stairs :o)
By far the best part of the Atomium is the highest sphere...which you reach by taking an elevator straight to the top (after waiting in the long line in the lobby, of course). It has great views of the city :o) You can even dine at the top at the super expensive restaurant! We opted not to eat and with two restless toddlers we took a quick look around and then were headed back down.
I'm glad we got to see the inside of this strange Brussels landmark even if it was a little boring. Now on to planning our next adventure!
